Divided into different autonomous regions, you can travel to one of them, or combine several. Different motivations take you into different places!
It’s capital, Madrid, can offer historical sites, famous museums, busy shopping streets, traditional ‘’tapas’’ bars or fancy restaurants. You may enjoy this magical city in a short city break or start here for a round trip to the nearest regions, including heritage cities such as Toledo, Ávila, Salamanca and Segovia.
If you have a request for a pilgrimage tour in Spain, the St. James Way, ending in Santiago de Compostela, is for sure the top option! By arriving in Bilbao airport, don’t miss a city tour including the Guggenheim Museum, and then head to Logroño or Burgos to take the French way to Santiago. Should schedule allow, consider the possibility to depart from Porto airport (in Portugal) and include a sightseeing to this city, famous for its’ Port wine.
On the opposite corner from Santiago lays the cosmopolitan Barcelona, in Catalunya region, with so many arts and cultural options, that the difficulty is to choose what not to see!! Sagrada Familia, Park Güell and a stroll through ‘’las Ramblas’’ will certainly be included in the bucket list! Barcelona is also combinable, within a round tour, in different directions: Tarragona and Valencia (with the possibility to depart from Valencia); Costa Dorada (possible to extend to the south of France).
Valencia also deserves to be at the top of the list for a visit, with its spectacular cathedral and the avant-garde ‘’city of arts’’. Fun fact about this city: there is a Water Court as a supreme decision maker about the distribution of the water from the River Turia to the farmers. Good luck on being there on time to assist the eight farmers sitting in a circle, on wood and leather 17th century chairs, and make their rulings!!
At the south of the country, we find the exciting Andalusia! And here you can go to ski in the morning and to the beach in the afternoon! By arriving in Malaga airport, we can start a round trip including Jerez, Seville, Cordoba,and Granada, for example, or even stay put in Costa del Sol, enjoying all these spectacular cities in a day tour. At the end, how nice would it be to extend the tour to Morocco??
